In this area, we are lucky to be surrounded by a copious amount of creative people. Those working with a variety of media – like paint, textiles, wood, metal – to produce pieces of beauty and meaning. It’s important to also value the revenue generated by the creative sector, which contributes hugely to the overall local economy.
If you are one of these talented folk, the Leicestershire and Rutland Business Club is a good place for you to boost the business side of your work.
Who is the Leicestershire and Rutland Business Club for?
We are open to any business that is based in the Rutland or Leicestershire area. For example, one of our current members is the owner of the highly reputed Four Walls Gallery in Melton Mowbray. We would love to welcome more people from the creative sector; whether that be a jeweller, artist, sculptor, blacksmith, musician, designer, photographer… the list of possibilities really is endless!
There are a range of business contacts to be made, within a diversity of fields and services. Essentially, our club is for people just like you who want to build business connections with people they like.
What’s in it for me, as a business in the creative industry sector?
You will belong to a group of likeminded business people who are committed to supporting each other and, ultimately, increasing business revenue.
Perhaps you are able to invest in attending events like The Rutland County Show, Leicestershire County Show or Melton Country Show and Festival to get volume of exposure. Even with maximum potential footfall, as one-off annual events, these are limited in their networking potential. It’s also quite tricky to promote your work from your own home, workshop or studio. Many creatives have a great online presence, but you can’t really beat a good, solid word-of-mouth recommendation.
Other good stuff about the Leicestershire and Rutland Business Club:
- An affordable, monthly membership fee. No extortionate joining amount.
- Your own section on the new club website
- No ‘must achieve’ referral targets
- Learn from others’ expertise and experience
- Share successes… and woes
- Sociable atmosphere with a professional meeting structure
Are there any reasons why I can’t join?
In order to avoid business competitions between members, we only allow one of each type of business to join at a time. Sometimes there are small overlaps that can be accommodated, but otherwise this sensible rule stands.
How much time do I need to commit?
Our meetings are on alternate Tuesdays 7.30-8.30am. Breakfast will greet you in our lovely meeting room in Pera Business Park (Melton Mowbray). It’s very easy to find and there is free parking on site. There are also the odd social events dotted during the year – but they’re not compulsory!
What do I do now?
Check out our website or give us a call on 01644 454066 for more details. You can arrange to come to a meeting as a visitor, with no commitment, and see what you think. Look forward to seeing you there.
